Part VII: Release the Kraken: Master Tape #1

We are now at the part of the site where the true genius of Paradigm will surface. The songs!

This statement would be true if we lived in a bizarro world where everything was opposite. Well, at least in the beginning, this was true. The later stuff was truly brilliant! Actually, the later stuff wasn't really anything super riveting either. Enough with the self deprecation and on to the music!

The following list of songs are in the exact order of how we assembled them on our "master tapes." The order you see is not necessarily the order in which the songs were written or recorded, but rather the way we thought (at the time) had the most impact to the listeners. And I use the plural version of the word "listeners" very loosely as we barely made the cut to plurality.

There were 11 listeners. More than enough!

I will try to provide as much detail in the songwriting process along with any fun stories revolved around the songs and recording them.

As I listen to some of the songs now, it occurred to me that they have seen many recording incarnations. First recorded on a 4 track (or 8 track) multitrack recorder, then dumped down to cassette, then most likely CD, and finally now as an mp3. It was over 20 years ago, but was preserved enough to give people an idea of what we sounded like. Clearly not the best recording, but good enough. The songs themselves have not been altered at all from the original recordings except for some equalization and normalization (volume).

Click on a song and it will bring you to the song detail page. From there, click on the mp3 player to play the song from the site or, at the bottom of every song page, you could download the MP3 file for the song.

On the bottom of all the main "master tape" pages will be a link to a page containing all the songs. Here you could download all of them at once.

You have just experienced a mere taste of what you silly mortals would refer to as gold. If the choice was made to cease the endeavor we called Paradigm, the world, as we know it, may not have been the same.

Or maybe it would have been the same, with just a couple dozen extra songs in it.

Our world wouldn't have been the same. Let's move on!

On to Master Tape #2!
