Don't Really Care
Lyrics:
Doing drugs, getting drunk all night.
Shooting guns, taking other kids lives.
Rob the elderly and kill them too.
Walk around without a fucking clue.
This is what they want to think of us,
Walk around creating all this fuss.
They're the ones that kill each other dead
with their tanks and bombs, but none of that is said
Don't really care, Don't Really Care, we don't fucking care.
Perverted thoughts with our shrunken heads.
We make everything around us dead.
Killing cities, making buildings fall
because we really don't fucking care at all.
Then they think we're irresponsible.
They believe that all we do is kill.
They're the ones that kill each other dead
with their tanks and bombs, but none of that is said
Don't really care, Don't Really Care, we don't fucking care.
Commentary:
This is probably the first anti establishment song I ever wrote. The sarcasm that was present was representative of our smart ass nature. We may have been wise asses, but we weren't the ones that were destroying each other on a massive scale through war. This is also a youth rebellion song. I had this idea that the older generation thought of us as idiots that were good for nothing. We may not have been good for too much back then but once again, at least we weren't the ones killing on a massive scale.
At the time, Mike had come up with some of the melodies for songs. I would provide the lyrics and music and he would work out the rest. I believe this was one of those songs. There are some other songs that I will point out as well when they come up. I know that there were some songs where he originally recorded the vocals, but unfortunately, I don't have any of those versions of the songs. I will reach out to Mike and see if by chance he might have them. If so, I will definitely post them.
