I Want To

Lyrics:
Sometimes I want to take things really smoothly but they
always go across the grain.
Sometimes I want to try and be more normal but it just drives
me more insane.
Sometimes I want to take all of my feelings and just drive
them all through my brain.
Sometimes I want to tell the world I'm leaving and forget
about all the pain.

I Want to. I have to. I need to do it all.

Sometimes I want to try to talk to someone but I don't have
no one to call.
Sometimes I want to save a little money but I wind up
spending it all.
Sometimes I want to try and tell you something but I'd rather
just talk to a wall.
Sometimes I want to do everything right now but I always
just seem to stall.

I Want to. I have to. I need to do it all.

Commentary:

At the time, I thought this song's lyrics were clever. I believe Matt also dug the lyrics as well as this seems to be the go to song for him when he tells me what song lyrics he likes that I have written. As I mentioned, I wrote this song around the same time as "Take Me Away," hence the similar type of bass line opening and song structure (Intro, verse, chorus, verse, chorus, solo, verse, double chorus).

We were experimenting with different effects from the processor that Mike had bought and found an octave effect that we threw on the lead.

Nothing too exciting to tell about this one. Note that, again, a theme of leaving/dying comes up. I suppose I was really looking for a change to what I considered at the time as a mundane life. I'm glad I stuck around.
